Flags and Fireworks
crayola supplies
Color Wonder™ Fingerpaints
Color Wonder™ Paper
household supplies
paper towels
1. What designs can you find on flags? Lots of flags have colorful stripes. Some have stars, or trees, or the moon. What do flags for your country, state, or province look like?
2. Use Crayola Color Wonder Fingerpaints and Paper to create a flag. Invent one, or paint one you like. Use your fingers, the sides of your hand, or your palm to spread the fingerpaint.
3. Does your flag design have white parts? Don’t paint the paper there. White areas are called negative space. They make a nice contrast to the color, don’t you think?
4. Add sprays of fireworks to your flag if you like.

tTry this extra cool craft!

crayola supplies
Washable Kid's Paint
Arts & Crafts Brushes
No-Run School Glue
Glitter Glue
Blunt-Tip Scissors
Model Magic® Fusion™
household supplies
recycled newspaper
cookie cutters
rolling pin
paper towels
modeling tools
wooden shape
container(s) of water
wooden box
steps
1. Choose a holiday theme, designs, and colors to coordinate with your gift or the person receiving it. Decorate your box any way you like. Here is how we made the Christmas and Chanukah boxes in the picture.
2. Cover your craft area with newspaper. Paint a plain wooden box with Crayola® Washable Kid’s Paint and Brushes. Air-dry for about 30 minutes.
3. For a sparkly effect, squeeze Crayola Glitter Glue on top of the dried painted areas and spread out with a brush. Air-dry the glue.
4. When using a wooden shape to decorate the box lid or sides, roll out Crayola Model Magic Fusion™ compound until it is very smooth and quite thin. Lay the Fusion™ compound over the wooden piece. Use a modeling tool to trim the edges and flatten. Attach the shape to the box with Crayola School Glue.
5. If you use cookie cutter designs, roll out a slightly thicker Fusion™ slab. Carefully press the cookie cutter shape into it and remove. Lift the shape and glue it on the box.
6. Adorn the box with decorative Fusion details. Here are a few ideas. Make twisted ropes by rolling two colors into long ropes. Press the two ropes together at one end. Gently twist the two colors together. Glue the twist on your box. Roll long ropes to outline shapes. Roll balls and gently press flat for a dimensional effect. Glue your decorations to the box.
7. Model Magic Fusion dries to the touch overnight and dries completely in 2 to 3 days. Embellish your gift box with Crayola Glitter Glue. Air-dry the sparkles. Your gift box is ready to fill with goodies to delight someone!
